Product Support Period

製品サポート期間 / End-of-Life (EOL) Policy

1. Purpose

Billion Electric Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company") establishes this policy to define the security support period for each product and the policy applicable after the support period ends, in order to maintain product security over the long term.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the Company's IoT products covered by the JC-STAR conformity label.

3. Security Support Period

The Company provides security support (vulnerability response, patch distribution, etc.) for products covered by this policy during the period specified below.

Support Period

5 years from product shipment

Start Date

The shipment date of each individual product (calculated per shipment)

During the support period, the Company provides the following support for covered products:

  • Receipt and handling of vulnerability reports
  • Provision of patches (firmware updates)
  • Publication of security advisories

4. Policy After Support Period Ends

After the support period ends, new security updates and patches will no longer be provided. However, patches released prior to the end date will continue to be available for use.

Continued Use After End of Support
Products may continue to be used after the support period ends, but fixes for newly discovered vulnerabilities will not be provided. To minimize security risk, we recommend planning a migration to a successor product.

5. Support Period Extension

Should an extension of the support period be required, this can be arranged through an individual contract. For details, please contact our standard inquiry channels.

6. Advance Notice of End of Support

As the support period for a covered product approaches its end, the Company will publish an announcement on its website approximately 6 months before the end date. For corporate customers, individual notification may be provided based on the applicable contract.
